A Weekend of Celebration and Remembrance

Make a weekend of it in Terrell as the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum brings together celebration and remembrance in honor of the RAF cadets who trained here during World War II.

The weekend begins Saturday, Nov. 7, with A Night to Remember, an elegant evening at Lula Mae Bistro in historic downtown Terrell. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and casino games while supporting the mission and programs of the No. 1 BFTS Museum.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, the focus turns to remembrance. Join us at 3 p.m. at the RAF Plot at Oakland Memorial Park for the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony honoring the young British and Allied cadets who came to Terrell to learn to fly during World War II. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to the museum for a traditional tea and time of fellowship.

Come for the celebration. Stay for the remembrance. Spend the weekend in Terrell, enjoy our historic downtown and help us celebrate, honor and preserve a remarkable chapter of our shared history.
